Millesgården - About Millesgården - Carl Milles - Evert Milles

Evert Milles (1885-1960)

Evert Milles was a Swedish architect and half-brother of the sculptor Carl Milles. He specialized in restorations of churches and manors and designed several churches, including St. Erik's Church in Sollentuna. As a close associate of Carl Milles, he was hired to design the renovations and extensions of Millesgården, which was originally designed in 1908 by the architect Karl M. Bengtsson. Evert also designed villas in Djursholm and the entrance hall of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Djursholm.

One of his last works at Millesgården was the lower terrace, with the new residence of Olga and Carl Milles, "Anne's House"; it was largely finished by the time of Carl Milles' death on September 19, 1955.

Evert Milles is buried at Lidingö Cemetery.
